The Team Behind Wakatipu Junior Rugby Club

Harcourts Highland Group is continuing to be committed to supporting the communities we work and live in, and this time it’s all about our junior rugby players in blue. This winter their excited to get stuck into the long-term backing of the Wakatipu Junior Rugby Club as the main sponsor.

The club’s dedication with a love for the sport aligns perfectly with Harcourts vision of supporting local communities and empowering individuals to reach their full potential. Harcourts aims to contribute to the growth and success of the club, both on and off the field by providing essential gear and resources needed for children to participate in the sport they love.

Having a strong presence in the region, Harcourts has long been committed to supporting local initiatives and community-driven projects. The collaboration signifies a shared vision of promoting community development and engagement, teamwork, nurturing young talent and celebrating the passion for rugby among young players.

Nick Brown, Wakatipu Junior Rugby Committee Member states that “Harcourts has long had a connection with the Wakatipu Rugby Club, including our Juniors and we’re excited to strengthen and really grow the connection between Harcourts and Wakatipu Junior Rugby moving forward.”

The Junior Club has over 200+ players, with 14 teams in the under sevens to under elevens grade, as well as three teams combined with Arrowtown in the open grade competition.

Rugby holds a special place in the hearts of many local residents and the Wakatipu Rugby Club serves as a hub for enthusiasts and players alike. Harcourts has a long-standing history with rugby across Otago, where they were one of the main sponsors for the Otago Rugby Football Union for many years. Harcourts Sales Consultant, Jason Drewett has been involved in the Wakatipu Junior Rugby Club, where he supported and coached his son Alex, who first started playing ripper rugby with the club 7 years ago.

Ann-Marie, Treasurer for the Wakatipu Junior Rugby Club says, “Our partnership with Harcourts is so important because of the shared values that we hold. As a company, Harcourts puts people first and with their help, we have been able to put our local families first and make rugby more accessible to more children in our community. We have over 200 children registered with our club this season, all of whom have received a club hoodie at no extra cost for the first time.”

Goodluck to our Wakatipu junior rugby players in blue out on the field this season!
