Premium Offering Drives Clyde Market

Gone are the days when the quaint village of Clyde might have been seen as a sleepy little Central Otago backwater.

While house prices around the country are volatile to say the least, the market in Clyde and pockets of Central Otago continues to defy the doomsayers. Clyde is renowned for fetching premium prices and with recent growth and upcoming developments in the charming township it’s not surprising.

Recent sales statistics show the median sale price in Alexandra (including Clyde and Roxburgh) rose 1.93% between August 2021 and August 2022.

Harcourts Cromwell agents Steve Cairns and Jake Lucas say they can see why the Clyde market has remained firm, as they launch a 97-section development called Sunderland Park to market.
“There’s some pretty major growth going on at the moment, including work that’s just started on a $90 million retirement village adjacent to the development. But while the town grows, it still manages to maintain its quaintness and character,” says Steve.

Sections hit the market

Starting at $399,000, sections range from 400sqm to 1006sqm. Construction on the sites has already begun and titles can be expected in mid-2023.
