The Block NZ winners Brooke and Mitch are selling their Queenstown home

We’re hugely excited to present 54 Jack’s Point Rise to the market — the beautiful home designed and developed by The Block NZ winners Brooke Thompson and Mitch Davies.
The Christchurch couple was crowned the 2015 winner of the reality show after 10 gruelling weeks of fierce competition and, soon after victory, they realised their long-held dream of owning property in Queenstown. They acted fast, knowing the market here is highly competitive, and spent their winnings on a section in Jack’s Point, a high quality settlement on the eastern corner of Lake Wakatipu. They moved in just four months after purchasing and, according to Brooke, it all fell into place from there.   queenstown-jack's-point   The home — now completed — has already garnered plenty of attention, featuring in Your Home and Garden magazine in July 2016 and being voted Favourite Home of the Year on the magazine’s Facebook page.
The overall impression of 54 Jack’s Point Rise is that it’s relaxing, simple and an impeccably well thought out space.
And it’s far from fussy or ostentatious — rather, Brooke and Mitch have harnessed in their design the calming, tranquil feel of the breath-taking Wakatipu.

Soft whites, subtle greys and neutral browns are combined in a timeless colour palette.
Tall windows and over-height glass doors welcome an abundance of light into every room, while the living space faces north — a requirement of every Jack’s Point home — which ensures they can enjoy the magnificent views and ever-changing skyscape in privacy.

The sunny decking area with feature Escea fireplace looks out to magnificent Central Lakes countryside.
An open-plan lay-out maximises the easy, comfortable flow of the home and makes entertaining a pleasure. The large indoor eating and living space opens to a north-facing deck which looks out to sprawling country views. Mitch and Brooke added a striking Escea outdoor fireplace — it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of Pinot or two.
In fact, the house is scattered with luxurious touches.
Stunning hexagonal tiling lines the kitchen walls and the bathrooms feature specialist German Hansgrohe tapware — functionality, particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms, was high on the list for the design-savvy duo. Mitch, a plumber, installed thermostatically-controlled showers so there’s no waiting for water to warm up. And the high quality heating system and fibre internet complete a faultless set-up for the modern family.

The Block NZ taught Brooke and Mitch that bathrooms and kitchens sell homes — they spared no expense with their luxury utility rooms.
Unbeatable location If you know Queenstown, you know that Jack’s Point is one of the most sought-after and private settlements in the region, and just 20 minutes’ drive from town.
It’s close enough to enjoy lively Queenstown, but far enough away to maintain a luxurious seclusion and unique perspective of the surrounding landscape.
The town planners have taken care to preserve this distinctive atmosphere with over 800 hectares of restored wetland, a native songbird habitat, a working farm and a golf course (surely one of the most impressive in the world), all linked seamlessly via a network of trails.

The Remarkables mountain range is a breath-taking backdrop for the Jack’s Point home.
A vibrant village community is in development, too. Once completed, it will comprise of luxury boat houses, apartments, restaurants, cafes and innovative retail businesses, creating an exciting work and lifestyle mix. As with all Jack’s Point buildings, Brooke and Mitch’s home follows design and sustainability principles ensuring the construction sits sympathetically within the dramatic setting.
Brooke and Mitch completed their project with incredible care and wonderful detail, and we’re excited to help them find new owners of this one-of-a-kind home.
