A Small Office Achieving Big Things
As we mentioned in our last blog, Tim was a salesperson with Harcourts in Christchurch for an incredible 18 years, first as an individual agent and then in a team with Jamin Marshall from Harcourts Merivale. Leaving Christchurch on a high note, Tim achieved number eight agent for the Harcourts Holmwood franchise out of more than 140 agents as well as taking out the top agent award in the Harcourts Merivale office.
This level of well-honed skills and considerable experience has been invaluable to the Harcourts Cromwell office and their clients.
Since Tim became an integral part of the Harcourts Cromwell team, he’s lead them to achieve some big awards. In the last financial year, the team was awarded Top Office for Revenue (Small group) in the South Island – 1st place and Top Office for Auctions per sales consultant – 3rd place. This included four monthly national awards for Top Office Revenue and Revenue per sales consultant (small group).
“I put it down to creating an environment for our team of sales consultants that makes it easier to do their job. Real Estate is simple – prospecting, listing, negotiating and keeping the deal together. Ultimately everything else is a distraction. My role is to help the team see that and to have them working systems to keep them focused on the real work.”
To top it off the Cromwell Office became a finalist in the REINZ Small Residential Office of the Year. The REINZ Awards for Excellence is one of the most prestigious events on the real estate industry’s calendar, it celebrates New Zealand’s top real estate agents across all sectors for the year.
“This is the most meaningful award being a national award across all agencies, we were both pleasantly surprised and excited”.
Harcourts Otago just released their Top 10 for November and it’s the first time that all Cromwell teams placed in the top 10 out of 100 Harcourts agents. Steve Cairns, Jake Lucas, Judy Ludemann, Ken Ludemann, Cara Shanks.
Aside from the award-winning factor, Tim’s been hard at work creating an office culture that everyone wants to be a part of. He believes the awards reflect the progress they’ve made as a team.
“My focus has been getting the team to function as one whole team, rather than several individuals, which means getting them to trust me and each other.”
Tim’s introduced a monthly internal award for the team – Most Valuable Team Player which has a focus on building team spirit and community focus. With this award in mind for the team Harcourts Cromwell have been proud sponsors of the Twilight Golf Tournament, Cromwell College, Cromwell Scouts, Cromwell Primary School and Gumboot Friday sausage sizzle.
So what’s next for Tim and the Harcourts Cromwell team?
“Now that the foundations have been set, its time to grow the team!”
