A New Challenge And New Opportunities

When Tim Harris decided it was time for a new challenge, he took himself and his partner Rachel “out of their comfort zone” by moving from Christchurch to take up a role as Harcourts Cromwell sales manager.

Tim was a salesperson with Harcourts in Christchurch for an incredible 18 years, first as an individual agent and then in a team with Jamin Marshall from Harcourts Merivale. For last three years, he ran his own team. Leaving Christchurch on a high note, this year Tim achieved number eight agent for the Harcourts Holmwood franchise out of more than 140 agents as well as taking out the top agent award in the Harcourts Merivale office.

That level of well-honed skills and considerable experience is going to be invaluable to the Harcourts Cromwell office and their clients.

Tim is a master of “putting himself outside his comfort zone”, having first done so when he moved from the UK to Christchurch 23 years ago. Now the kids have grown up and left the nest, and in order to be closer to his partner’s family and friends in the Catlins, he’s moved to a new location and a new management role with the Highland Real Estate Group.

So after only a couple of weeks in the role, what are his key takeaways? “It’s more of a laidback lifestyle than Christchurch, but with plenty of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and a I finally have a home with a log burner!”

On a more serious note, Tim’s goal is to help his team flourish and achieve their potential. He’s keen to see more of an ‘auction culture’ in the office as in Christchurch over 85% of his business was sale by auction and he’s a firm believer in it being the best way for vendors to sell (whatever the market dynamic).

“I’ve loved the welcome I’ve had in the office and the I’m not about to upset anyone with any radical changes just yet!”

“But while embracing digital advancements to simplify the delivery of key information to buyers and sellers, I’m a firm believer in ‘people-centred’ communication being key to every transaction.”

His strong record of referral and repeat business attests to that people-centred focus. Tim’s understanding of what it takes to accomplish successful outcomes for clients propels him to inspire, educate and strengthen his team, bringing together their respective skill sets to obtain the best result for all parties.
